The SureFire G2 Nitrolon is SureFire's 6P Original Flashlight with a unique feel and look, constructed from a high-impact, glass-reinforced, proprietary polymer. This dude is a workhorse of a flashlight, both durable and tough, capable of withstanding repeated impacts into its shock-resistant polymer housing. The G's non-conductive polymer construction makes it ideal for use around high voltage equipment or dangerous chemical environments. Great to have as an extra flashlight to throw in the hangar or toolbox if you're one to work on your own aircraft, or any aircraft for that matter. A great gift for the A&P!

TRUE STORIES "SureFire G2 Makes Copperhead Shine" One evening my buddies and I thought it would be a good idea to go for a hike, in search of a new camping spot. Thankfully, before I left, I had the foresight to strap my SureFire G2™ Nitrolon®, in its nylon SureFire holster, to my belt. I didn’t figure I would need the flashlight, since I had a one-million-candlepower rechargeable spotlight with me, as well. The four of us set out in the truck and drove to the bottom of the hill where we usually camp, and from there we set out on foot. We walked about four miles until we finally found a suitable camping spot. Satisfied with our discovery, we turned to go home, when the big, rechargeable, $60 spotlight went belly up. Standing there in the darkness, I heard something rustle to my left. I grabbed for my SureFire G2 and illuminated the patch of ground where I’d heard the sound. To my surprise, there was a four-foot copperhead, poised and ready to strike, no more than two feet from my leg. My G2 flashlight , paired with my .410 shotgun that I always take hiking, quickly "dispatched" the snake and easily lit up the trail for the four-mile walk back to the truck. I can safely say that, if not for my Surefire and this flashlight's reliable performance, my night would have been a whole heck of a lot worse. Lee M. Chavies, KY — — — Wall of Light From Flashlight More Effective than Block Wall Returning home from work one night, I took my dog for a walk, my new SureFIre G2™ Nitrolon® flashlight strapped to my hip. Down the block, a neighbor owns a large, aggressive pit bull that enjoys scaling 5-ft block walls. Having encountered this territorial bully before, I fully expected the usual posturing, yelling, and kicking to fend off the canine attacker. I've carried one of the 4-cell Maglite flashlights before but found it about as useful as a club. Even at point-blank range, the Mag flashlight's beam had no effect stopping this dog. So, as per usual, the pit bull hops over the wall and lingers in the shadowy shrubs, growling, ready to charge at any moment. My dog and I take a defensive stance, ready for the battle. But this time I pull my G2 flashlight by SureFire from my holster and take aim. Running towards us, Mr. Personality gets a brilliant, concentrated flashlight beam directly in his doggy eyes and decides he's had enough. He turns and scrambles back up and over the wall.I was floored. I didn't even have a chance to utter a word — my little SureFire did all the talking. Your product has earned you guys a SureFIre customer for life. Adrian P. Desert Hot Springs, CA — — — Michael, Row the Boat Ashore—Toward that SureFire G2! In August of 2005, my wife and I went on our first vacation in three years or so. We’d been invited to a semi-primitive cabin on a beautiful lake in central Ontario. Naturally, we packed our his-and-her SureFIre G2™ Nitrolon® flashlights. The evening of our arrival, our host wanted to take us all out for a moonlight ride on the lake. I begged off, as did some of the teenagers, but the others, including my wife, all went out. I chose instead to sit in a lawn chair on the dock and watch them disappear into the darkness, listening to the sound of their engine grow fainter and fainter until it disappeared altogether. I was soon to discover that the silence was not so much due to the fact they were over two miles away, but because they’d run out of gas. After an extended period of silence, a white pinprick of light from out on the lake began to flash in an inconsistent pattern of random bursts. I flashed my G2 flashlight back at the flash, and over the next five minutes we settled into matching flashes from flashlights, establishing an impromptu form of communication (neither my wife nor I know Morse code). I then sent a few of the older teens out with the other boat to investigate and assist, if needed, while I continued the flashing-light dialogue using my SureFire and established a beacon for the rescue boat to follow. A short time later, the rescue boat was in sight, towing my wife’s boat. All of the passengers were in good spirits, mercilessly teasing our host over having run out of gas, and enthusiastically congratulating my wife for carrying the flashlight, (her SureFire G2) that saved them from a chilly night on the lake. Out matching set of G2’s by SureFire functioned perfectly for the entire ordeal (about an hour). Never a flicker or any diminishing of light from these flashlights. As my wife now says (to anyone who will listen), “It’s a very fine flashlight at an extremely reasonable price.” As for me, I use the SureFIre G2 flashlight every day and keep the flashlight with me as religiously. Now I’ve got my eye on the 9P™ Original flashlights by SureFire. Anyway, thanks for the great flashlights. The icing on the cake is that SureFire flashlights are made in the USA. Mark M. Willoughby, OH — — — Ditching Drugs Foiled by G2 Flashlight I carry my G2 by SureFire on duty as a Sheriff's Deputy. One night, the two-man unit I was part of was called to assist a Special Operations team in the search for a vehicle and several suspects that they'd witnessed leaving a know narcotics area. I was acting as a cover officer for one of the plain clothes officers while he searched one of the suspects. I was shining my SureFire on the suspect so the other officer could search for weapons and drugs, when I noticed something fall from the subject's pant leg. The suspect shifted his position to cover the object with his foot, and the plain clothes officer missed this, but I stopped the search, cuffed the suspect, and repositioned him. We then found two baggies of narcotics that had fallen to the ground. The subject was presented with the evidence and confessed. Had I been using one of the departmentally issued flashlights, I would have undoubtedly missed the drugs falling to the ground. I use this flashlight for everything from building clearing to lighting a wheel well to helping change a flat. I have also turned many other officers on to the SureFire G2. These flashlights are a combination of power and price make them ideal flashlights for law-enforcement officers who are usually on a tight budget. Now I'm adding a SureFire G2 flashlight to my duty belt, too! Brian H. Lexington, SC — — — Instructor Learns Valuable Lesson One can never own enough SureFire flashlights. I have owned the practical SureFire 6P™ Original (my first flashlight), the blinding SureFire 9P™ Original (for airsoft), a SureFire G2 Nitrolon® (to keep in the car), a SureFire E1e Executive Elite® (last ditch), and an SureFire E2d Defender® (general purpose). I bought the SureFire A2 Aviator® because the light was designed for aviators. While somewhat costly compared to the other lights, I knew I had to add it to my SureFire family. This light truly served its purpose at the beginning of the year. At that time, I reported to the airfield to meet with my flight instructor. We needed to prepare my Cessna 182 for take-off at 1900 hours. This was my first night flight evaluation. My instructor used his Mini Maglite® flashlight to inspect the aircraft; I used the SureFire A2 Aviator. One can guess who made a better pre-flight inspection. The Mini Maglite flashlights could barely illuminate the inside of the engine when we lifted the cowling, while the SureFire A2 Aviator flashlights detailed every nut and bolt. But light from the A2 flashlight was easily manageable, and did not interfere with our slowly developing night vision. Take off, climb, and cruise went without a hitch. When we turned back towards the field, the in-cabin red light flickered and then burned out. My instructor handed me his Mini Mag-Lite flashlight to continue my navigation. I pulled the SureFire A2 from my pocket and as I started to twist the tail cap, he shielded his eyes from the blinding blast of the flashlight he expected to receive. However, when he moved his hands, he was treated to the gentle glow of red SureFire LEDs from the same flashlight that I had used to perform my preflight check. The look on his face was priceless. It was one of admiration, jealousy, and surprise that I don’t think I'll ever be able to get again. He reached into the bulb/fuse box at the back of the aircraft and changed out the bad bulb in the cabin. The remainder of the flight went without a hitch. When we returned to the flight school, my instructor asked me to show the senior instructor my SureFire. As I began to show him my flashlight, he pulled his SureFire A2 out of his pocket. My instructor ordered his A2 by SureFire with red LEDs later that week. Ryan S. Fayetteville, GA — — — SureFire Nitrolon Endures Weight of Heavy Machinery I am truly impressed with the durability of SureFire flashlights. The other day I was running a 262B CAT loader and ran over my G2® Nitrolon® with a KL3 LED head on it. I picked the flashlight out of the cat's tracks, knocked the dirt off, and hit the switch. The flashlight worked perfectly. Thanks for making such durable, bright flashlights. Mike T. Woodleaf, NC — — — G2 by SureFire IDs IED I went to war in Iraq — Baghdad to be specific. The war was just getting stated, when I took charge of a platoon with the 82nd Airborne. I have been deployed many times before throughout my 18 year career, so I knew of a few things that were must-have items. One of them was a Surefire flashlight. When I was a Special Forces Engineer, someone once told me that there are a few tools a good engineer always carries: a good multi-tool, a solid knife, and a damn good flashlight, specifically, a SureFire. Well, after OCS, I had a couple of extra bucks, so I bought myself a SureFire G2™ Nitrolon®. One night, while doing a route clearance, I saw a wire in some bushes that didn't look right. My platoon sergeant thought he saw something else, but I shined my SureFire G2 on it and it illuminated what was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my life. I was standing about 20 feet away from what appeared to me to be an improvised explosive device (IED). I was so close to the device that, had it gone off, it probably would've vaporized me. We immediately backed-off to prepare a recon party to find a firing wire. Again, with the use of my SureFire, I found the detonating wire that led up to a house. The wire had a small kink in it, which was probably the only reason it hadn't detonated. This bomb was obviously meant for some unsuspecting convoy, and would've killed a dozen or more of our soldiers if detonated properly. If not for the keen eye of a soldier and the bright light of my SureFire flashlight, if very well might've been me who was killed that night. Lonni J. Iraq — — — G2 Flashlights Helps Avoid Titanic Situation For Christmas last year, I got my cousin one of the Surefire G2 Nitrolon® flashlights because he was going to Alaska to work on a fishing boat as the cook. When he got back, he told us all how his SureFire flashlight saved his life. One night, while out at sea, it was foggy, and my cousin saw what he said "looked like little lily pads" in the distance. He didn't know how to work the big spotlight onboard, so he grabbed his G2 flashlight and pointed it at the "lily pads," discovering that they were icebergs. They stopped and turned around, thanks to the SureFire G2.If it hadn't been for that G2, he and some other men might not be here anymore. Thank you, SureFire, for your amazing products and the effort you put into them. Jared W. Knoxville, TN Light Machine Gun Toast, Flashlighight Just Fine I received one of the SureFire G2® Nitrolon® flashlights from my father before deploying to Iraq. He is a narcotics officer and swears by his Sure FIre. I mounted the flashlight on my SureFire M16 and carried it all over the Babil and Karbala provinces, using the flashlight every day. Toward the end of my tour, while on a convoy, I was manning an M249 SAW on a gun truck. We were struck by an IED (improvised explosive device) and the vehicle flipped two and a half times, landing on its turret. The force of the blast and the rollover blew my M249 SAW from the turret, along with my M16, SureFire attached, as always.I escaped with a few cuts and bruises. I quickly found my weapons (the SAW was toast) and proceeded to cordon off and search the area. I thought my G2 would be in the same shape as the SAW, but when I turned it on, the flashlight shined as bright as ever. I will never own another brand of flashlights. Thanks, SureFire. Sean O. Ft. Hood, TX P.S. I also work as a volunteer firefighter for my city. That same SureFire G2 is now mounted on my helmet. — — — What's Yours is Hers - Even Flashlights I bought my wife a G2® Nitrolon® so she would have a compact flashlight as bright as my large work light. My three-year-old fell in love with the G2 by SureFire , and she kept telling me, "Mommy's light is brighter than Daddy's light!" I quickly learned that she was right, so I bought an E2E Executive Elite® from SureFire for myself. When it arrived, my wife then fell in love with the flashlight. Now I am the proud owner of a SureFire G2, while my wife carries a brand new E2E.Thanks for the great products you make. Ken P. Bennettsville, SC — — — Bad Move for Bad Mover A few months ago, my girlfriend and I moved into a new house. We were new in town, and I had no sense of where the "bad" neighborhoods were. Our first night, we'd only unloaded a couple of boxes containing the necessary items. Amongst them was my SureFire G2 Nitrolon with its ultra high-output SureFire P61 lamp. Without thinking, I set it on the nightstand and walked off. That night, while I was half asleep, I stumbled through the house, only to meet a member of the moving crew sifting through our stuff. We got into a scuffle, and my girlfriend came running upstairs, toting my G2. She turned it on, blinding us both, but I was able to get free and restrain my assailant. If it hadn't been for my SureFire G2 flashlight, things could've been a lot worse. The ironic part of the whole incident is that my girlfriend has always teased me for carrying my SureFire everywhere. Not anymore. Sean B. Wichita, KS — — — Muggers Don't Count on G2 It was three in the morning, and I had just come from a downtown bar in Toronto, when suddenly, out of the alleyway, appeared two large, intoxicated men. One of them pulled out a knife and said, "Your wallet or your life."I went cautiously into my pocket, but, instead of pulling out my cash, I took out my Surefire G2 Nitrolon®. I shined the flashlight directly into the goon's face and, when he was dazed, kicked him back onto his buddy. The two fell down, and I ran away to safety, thank the Lord. That SureFire saved my life...and my wallet! Harry C. Markham, Ontario — — — SureFire Cuts through Sandstorm My unit is currently deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The other night, we had a disruption of power on the flight line that caused all of our lighting to go out. To make matters worse, we were also in the midst of a pretty bad sandstorm. One of our inbound aircraft radioed in, saying the sandstorm had rendered their night-vision goggles useless and they couldn't see the landing zone. I told them I would guide them in and that they should keep an eye out for a bright light. So I grabbed my G2™ Nitrolon® by Sure Fire, donned my cranial and goggles, and braved the sandstorm to bring our boys home safely. My G2 flashlight illuminated the landing zone, and the plane landed safely. That little G2 prevented a potential Class-A mishap and kept one of our aircraft from having to go land at another base.
